Telstra

Telstra Corporation Limited is Australia's largest mobile carrier with around 16 million mobile users and 41.1% market share. Originally government owned, Telstra was privatised in 1997. Telstra is at the forefront of mobile technology and often the first to market with new technology.

They were the first mobile service provider in Australia, and in 2011 launched Australia's first LTE network. Their NextG™ network is also well known for having the best coverage out of the four carriers covering 99% of the population.

In May 2013 Telstra purchased spectrum in the 700 MHz and 2600 MHz band for future 4G use. This will be used once licenses are issued in 2015.

Telstra announced the shut down of their GSM network will be at the end of 2016.

Telstra had a roaming agreement with Three on their 3G 2100Mhz network which ended 31st August 2012.
